Jan. 22nd Hailee Jan. 30th We hope you have a sparkling celebration!!!! Preparing For Winter….. Cozy reminder: The
cold mornings are here, so we would like to see the children bundled in layers in order to keep warm. This allows your

MATH TIME Counting Snack Mix: Math is mighty tasty at this counting activity!! On a table, place four bowls, each with a different trail mix
food, such as fish-shaped crackers, raisins, various cereals, peanuts, or marshmallows. Add a spoon to each bowl and
then place a large die in front of each snack. For one child one large dice will work just fine. Also, give your
child a cup. Have
your child roll the die in front of the first bowl, count the dots on top of the die, and put the corresponding number of
food pieces from the bowl into his/her cup. Have him/her repeat this process with the other bowls until each type of
food has been added. Then, for all the hard work counting, invite your child to munch on his/her yummy snack.
One, two, three, yum!!

SHINY SNOWFLAKES
Art project fun!!
The forecast calls for flurries of flakes when you
try this art project! Give your child a piece of aluminum foil and have him/her lay it shiny side up. Have your
child dip the end of a thread spool (resembling a wagon wheel) into white paint. Then have him/her press the spool onto
the foil to make prints. Have him/her repeat the process, making prints with blue and purple pain too. What a
gorgeous snowfall!
SNOWFLAKES FALLING DOWN
(Sung to the tune of “London Bridge”)
Small snowflakes are falling
down, Falling down, falling down.
Small snowflakes are falling down, Let’s build a snowman. Roll some flakes up in three balls, In three balls, in three balls. Roll some flakes up in three balls, Let’s build a snowman. Take
the balls and stack them up, Stack them
up, stack them up. Take the balls and
stack them up, We’re building a
snowman. Add a face and two stick arms,
Two stick arms, two stick arms. Add a face and two stick arms, See the snowman!!

LATE PICK UP FEE
REFRESHER…. We have had several questions regarding our late pick up fee so we decided to
put a refresher in this newsletterJ You are charged $5 for the first minute then at 5:35/12:05 it is another $5, and it continues
to be $1 per minute after that time. All late fees should be paid in cash at the time of pickup or the next school day at
drop off. For example: 12:08 would be a total of $13.00 and 5:40 would be a total of $15. Please feel free to see Julie with any other questions or
concerns regarding this matter. Thank you.

BRAIN BOOSTERS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILYJ
While most of us know that regular exercise is essential
to a healthy body, we often overlook the fact that our minds need it too. It turns out that exercising the brain is
surprisingly easy!! Here are five things that every brain boosting house needs…..
1) A map (world map too) posted on a wall for easy access.
2) A good dictionary-age appropriate too.
3) A puzzle table- having a puzzle in progress
at all times.
4) A brain-boosting
library-stock it with books of crosswords, word searches, mazes, brainteasers, hangman, sudoku, etc.
5) A domino set-play the classic version to reinforce number skills, and then
create knock ‘em down courses to enhance creative thinkingJ
**Some fun brain games…..The Observation Challenge-put several household or child items
on a “tray” and let your child look at it for a few minutes, then have him cover his eyes while you remove an
item (or two) before you have him look and guess what is missing!!!
The Grocery Store Game-after you make your list tell your children all the items that start
with a specific letter—for example, cheese, carrots, cookies, and cat food—then when you arrive at the store ask
them to help you shop for those foods without using the list!!! **
